Broker due diligence
Compare the evidence
A practical forex broker due diligence checklist covering legal entities, permissions, domains, account terms, payments and complaint channels.
Use the same questions for each firm you are considering. Record the evidence and the date of the check rather than relying on a promotional score.
| What to check | What to record | What needs clarification |
|---|---|---|
| Legal entity | Exact company name and registration details | The contracting entity differs from the advertised brand. |
| Permissions | Current status and relevant regulated activities | A licence covers another service or another entity. |
| Website and contact | Details match the regulator’s record | A similar domain or unexpected contact channel. |
| Costs and withdrawals | Written fees, procedures and conditions | The terms are unclear or conflict with the sales pitch. |
| Payments | Recipient details match the account arrangement | You cannot explain who receives the payment. |
| Complaints | Documented complaint and dispute channels | You cannot identify the responsible jurisdiction. |
